Arriving at the resort via a purpose-built tunnel makes for a wonderfully grand entrance to the resort. We were met by attentive staff and greeted with drinks then shown to our Ocean view Suites.

Each Suite has an entrance foyer, sitting area and private Plunge Pool, day bed on terrace and beautifully large appointed bathroom. The Casitas are 3 or 4 bedrooms with fully equipped Kitchens and close to Children’s pools and restaurants.

The Resort provides each guest accommodation with private plunge pools with panoramic views of the sparkling Pacific Ocean, as well as four separate resort pools including 2 infinity edge, ocean-front pools, a rock formation pool and spa pool.

I had the pleasure of experiencing a one-hour full body massage at the resort’s Luna y Mar spa.

This is one of a very few resorts here that offer a water therapy massage conducted in a purpose-built pool in the spa.

El Farallon: Overlooks the Pacific Ocean, provides a casual dining experience with the thrill of ocean waves crashing into the cliff below. Tip: Tables located right on the cliff edge do enjoy the finest views, but we did see some dinner guests get the occasional splash from the ocean below.

Crudo: Meaning raw, Crudo specialises in ocean-fresh sushi and ceviche.

Recommended Experiences
We just loved the tequila tasting classes (who knew it could be so nice?), and the in-house cooking classes in a purpose built kitchen looked delicious.

Final Word
The resort is only a 5 minute cab ride from the Port of Los Cabos which makes a local shopping adventure an absolute breeze.

Esperanza is an Auberge Resort and is the only private beach resort in Los Cabos.

We were greeted with fresh juice and immediately taken to the private Kitchen for a private cooking lesson by the head chef. We were then escorted to the Lounge Bar, a cantina serving a variety of appetizers and light meals in addition to specialty cocktails for a light lunch.

We had a brief relaxing couple of hours to sit by the infinity edge pool prior to enjoying a wonderful massage and then it was off to do a site inspection of the property before being shown to our rooms.

We were each booked into a Terrace Casita with pool, 925 sq ft of indoor/outdoor living space, and ocean views located on the middle floors. Garden Casitas are located on the resort’s lower level.

There is a variety of Suites from Beachfront Terrace, Beachfront Palapa, Oceanview Penthouses, (top floor) and One-bedroom Oceanview Terrace Spa Suites (middle floor). All enjoy personal concierge service.


All rooms have separates double showers separate bath double basins, large outdoor deck private spa pool. There are coffee machines in every room.

The resort has a wonderful, tiered pool.


The Spa at Esperanza is renowned among Cabo resorts and spas as a relaxing and rejuvenating sanctuary, celebrated for its naturally restorative coastal desert environment and hand-crafted botanical treatments. It features indoor/outdoor treatment rooms, many with private outdoor soaking tubs.


The Spa at Esperanza features a signature water passage. This unique water therapy experience includes a warm-spring soaking pool, steam caves and a cool waterfall rinse.

We enjoyed dinner at the signature restaurant Cocina Del Mar. Overlooking the beautiful Mexican coast, the restaurant’s menu is inspired by the culinary traditions of North, Central and South America.

The Lounge Bar: Directly overlooking the ocean with views of Cabo’s famous Land’s End. This cantina serves a variety of light meals and specialty cocktails.
La Palapa: Located at the private residence club, The Palapa offers casual outdoor dining.
La Terraza Americana: Light fare and traditional American cuisine including salads, sandwiches and burgers.

This resort is set amid lush gardens with stunning views over the Sea of Cortez and has beachfront access to one of the few swimmable beaches in the entire region, Pelican Beach.

Sun lounges and day beds and non- motorized water sports are available here are complimentary to guests.
We are greeted by all staff with their right hand over their hearts as a gesture of warmth love and respect to all, before being shown to our rooms.

We stayed in beautiful Ocean Front Junior Suites, approximately 70 sq. metres in size and featured comfortable sitting area, coffee machine, marble bathroom with separate rain shower, bath, double basins and walk in closet and separate loo.

In addition to Junior Suites, the resort also offers Ocean Front Rooms, Ocean Front Premier Rooms, One Bedroom Suites, Pool Casita Suites (great for families) and Villas including the magnificent Villa Cortez with four bedrooms, supremely located on its own private beach on the resort’s idyllic southern shore.



The One&Only Spa offers all manner of treatments inspired by ancient traditions. It also offers world-class beauty and grooming rooms along with a state of the fitness centre.


Agua by Larbi: Our first night’s dinner was at Agua by Larbi, one of the most popular restaurants in all of Baja. The restaurant an authentic menu of seasonal Mexican farm to table cuisine al fresco.


Breeze: Overlooking the free form pools with sea views is great for breakfast and light lunch
Seared: Dinner on our final night at the resort was at Seared. Known for its Michelin-Star Chef Jean George Vongerichten, Seared showcases some of the finest cuts of beef and the freshest of pacific seafood and biggest wine list in the region.

Final Word
Our second day at the resort we were taken out on the One & Only yacht to experience the beauty of the Sea of Cortez and Baja Peninsula. They provide snorkeling diving kayaks and paddle boards on board. This is available exclusively to Guests for tailored excursions of their choice.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos is an all-suite, adults-only, all-inclusive resort. It delivers gourmet a-la-carte dining, unlimited drinks, juices , 24-hour concierge service, daily refreshed mini bar, pool and beach waiter service daytime activities nightly entertainment and more.


This is a big resort with 500 suites, all with king or 2 double beds, full bathroom, jacuzzi tub and complimentary mini bar, large terrace or balcony.


The preferred Club rooms are located in the centre of the resort with access to exclusive lounge, special concierge services and added amenities.

Room categories are determined by the building level they are located on, and range from Junior Suite Garden View, Junior Suite Ocean View (swim-out versions of both are also offered), right up to Presidential Suites with every available convenience.


Middle floors feature Ocean View and Ocean Front Suites, and top floors are home to Master Suites.

All rooms conveniently have USB ports located in bed heads.

The impressive Secrets Spa by Pevonia is a 13000 sq. ft. facility with both indoor and outdoor treatment areas, and a hair and beauty salon.

Final Word
The resort’s 36-hole Greg Norman designed golf course is a wonderful asset guaranteed to please anyone who likes to swing a club.
